This notice forms part of the terms of service. It sets out what the service does, what it cannot do, and the limits it is built to.
What this service does
It tells you which kinds of place a recurring payment usually hides in, roughly what one looks like on a statement, and where to go to stop it once you have found it. That is the whole of it.
It never sees your money
This service connects to no bank or payment account, accepts no file or screenshot upload, and processes no amount, transaction, balance or card number.
Those routes do not exist in the product. They have not been switched off, and there is no setting that turns them on. There is no account link, no open banking integration, no statement parsing, and no field anywhere on this site that takes a figure.
It follows that this service does not know, and cannot know, what you actually pay, who you pay it to, or how much. Anything it tells you is about kinds of place and shapes of line, never about your money.
If you paste something that looks as though it came off a statement, it is discarded rather than processed, and nothing is written down.
It gives no financial advice
This service does not judge your spending. It does not say whether anything is worth keeping, makes no budgeting or savings suggestion, and compares nothing to anybody else’s spending. There is no average here, no ranking and no benchmark.
Whether to keep a subscription is your own judgement. The service has no view on it and is not built to have one, and forgetting about something is not treated here as a mistake.
It is not financial advice, debt advice, credit counselling, credit monitoring, credit repair or debt settlement, and it is not a regulated financial service.
It names no company, and holds no lookup table
This service names no merchant, platform, bank or payment processor, and maintains no table matching any company to how it appears on a statement.
What it describes are the shapes a statement line can take. For example:
- a parent company’s name rather than the product you signed up to;
- a short abbreviation of six or seven letters;
- a payment processor’s name followed by a reference;
- a place name unrelated to what you bought.
These are shapes, not correspondences. No specific company is being pointed at by any of them. Such correspondences change constantly, so writing them down would amount to fabricating them — and naming a company would be an insinuation about that company. Scan for the shapes rather than for the name you know.
It cancels nothing for you
This service cancels nothing on your behalf. It asks for and stores no account credentials for any other service, and it logs into nothing for you. Where it tells you a thing can be stopped, it is pointing at a place, not offering to go there.
How the list is made
The list is assembled in your browser from a table that ships with the page. Where a language model is used at all, its only job is to sort your description into the scene categories in that table. It does not write the places, does not write the statement shapes and does not order the list.

What the output is and is not
It can be wrong, and it can be incomplete
- It may suggest a place that holds nothing for you. An empty compartment is a finished one.
- It may fail to mention a place that does hold something.
- A shape it describes may not be the shape a particular line takes.
It is a prompt to go and look, not a finding. It should not be relied on as though it were complete or authoritative, and it is not a substitute for professional advice where a situation calls for professional advice. None of this limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer — see the terms.
Bias
The table this list is built from was written by people and reflects the kinds of arrangement they thought of. It will fit some lives better than others. If it misses something obvious about how you live, tell us at support@strategyisland.shop and we will look at the table.
Uses that are not permitted
This service must not be used for or relied on in:
- medical decisions;
- legal decisions;
- financial decisions, including any decision about credit;
- safety-critical systems;
- decisions about employment, credit, insurance, housing or criminal justice.
